Online access to preview 7-12 proposed ELA teaching resource tool

• At the April 4, 2024 workshop board meeting, a new text resource was presented after being selected by members of the English Departments at both West Shamokin and Armstrong High Schools.  This resource will be submitted for approval by the board of directors at the May 6, 2024 board meeting.  Currently, the resource is available for review both digitally and in paper format.  
• Below are instructions for accessing the proposed ELA teaching resource tool for grades 7 and 8 reading and grades 7 through 12 English to be implemented for the 24-25 school year.  The login provides the ability to review the learning management system platform, literary works, and each grade level text page by page.

• This resource is available for review in paper format by contacting the administrative office at 724-548-7200 to make an appointment.

Additionally, there is a listing of novels available for selection (also shown below).  All novels on the list will not be acquired.  Novels will be selected for use at grade levels in which all students in a given class will be reading and doing activities from the same novel.  These selections have not yet been made as these potential resources are still being reviewed.  These selections will be shared and listed by grade level of use on this webpage by May 8, 2024 or before.  The selections are not available as ebooks and are a supplement to the ELA curriculum.  They will be available for paper review following a similar review period to the text resource noted above.  After which, they will be submitted for approval by the board of directors at the June 10, 2024 board meeting.
