Leadership Conferences

Regional Leadership Conference (RLC)

The RLC is held for all high school students in Pennsylvania.  All rostered and paid FBLA members are eligible to attend.   At the 1-day event, you will attend seminars of your choice, on a variety of business topics, given by experts and business leaders.  The conference wraps up with announcements of the winners of the competitive events.  At the Regional Level, you are competing against other students in Western PA.

 

If you are competing in the following events:  Advertising, Agribusiness, Business Calculations, Business Law, Business Management, Computer Problem Solving, Cyber Security, Economics, International Business, Intro to Marketing Concepts, Marketing, Organizational Leadership, Political Science, or Securities & Investments:

  • You will take a 60-minute, multiple-choice online test.
  • Testing takes place from November 28 to December 2 during Lunch & Learn in C201.
  • First, second and third place finishers move on to the State level competition.
 

If you are competing in the following events:  Broadcast Journalism, Graphic Design, Publication Design, or Sales Presentation:

  • You will prepare, write, or design something according to the specific topic for your event.
  • At the Regional Conference (December 14 at Del Val University) - you will present, justify or explain your product to a panel of judges.
  • First and second place finishers move on to the State level competition.
 

State Leadership Conference (SLC)

If you placed in the top 3 at the RLC in your event, you are eligible to attend the SLC in Hershey, PA.  This is truly a business conference during which you are required to attend several seminars and workshops of your choosing.  In addition, depending on your event, you may be presenting to a panel of judges.  High school students from all over Pennsylvania attend - it's a great networking opportunity.  At the State Level, you are competing against high school students from all over Pennsylvania.  Monday night features the opening ceremony with keynote speaker and various announcements. Tuesday night features the awards ceremony where you learn where you placed in the competitions.

 

National Leadership Conference

If you placed in the top 3 in your event at the SLC you are eligible to attend the NLC in Atlanta, GA.
