Welcome!

Hi, my name is Mrs. Smathers.  This is my fifth year at West Shamokin High School.  I have previously taught at Kittaninng, Elderton and Ford City High Schools.  I am certified to teach Math 7-12 and Physics (science) 7-12.  I graduated high school from Homer Center and then attended IUP where I received three degrees, B.S. in Physics with minors in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, M.A. in Physics and a B.S. in Physics Education.  I also teach in the ASD Cyber School.

Each student is required to complete a Current Science Article each week.  They are worth 35 points and due every Friday that we are in school.  Articles are provided on Google Classroom.
